England are on the verge of coming home from India empty-handed after losing both the Test and T20I series’ to India over a gruelling few weeks.
The white ball series was a much closer affair, even without Test captain Joe Root among the line-up, but England fell 36 runs short in the final T20 outing.
Now it’s time for the world champion ODI team to take to the field and restore some pride for England against India over three matches to wrap up the tour.
Captain Eoin Morgan’s men had gone eight T20 series’ without defeat – their last loss came against India in 2018 – but were toppled 3-2 in the latest series at the weekend.
A late TV rights battle for the Test matches ended in victory for Channel 4, but the limited overs matches have been moved back to more familiar territory for the coming matches.
