Champions League contenders are edging their way closer to the final showdown with just eight teams remaining in the competition.

Defending champions Real Madrid were stunningly dumped out of the tournament by Ajax, but all four Premier League teams remains in the hunt for the grand prize.

Manchester United produced a famous display to come back from a 2-0 first-leg defeat against PSG to draw 3-3 on aggregate and advance via the away goals rule.

Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham defeated Bundesliga trio Schalke, Bayern Munich and Dortmund to ensure half of the quarter-finals will be made up of Premier League teams.

Last year’s Champions League final saw the Reds defeated 3-1 by Real Madrid following an infamous injury to Mohamed Salah.

The final will take place on Saturday 1st June 2019 at 8:00pm UK time.

Where will the Champions League final be played?

The big game will be hosted at the Wanda Metropolitano, the home of Atletico Madrid.

It boasts a 68,000 capacity and will be packed regardless of which teams reach European club football’s showpiece event.

There are still eight teams left in the competition (including all four English teams) with the quarter-finals underway.
