Online gaming has been huge for a while now, but watching online gaming is a relatively new craze.

Since 2017, YouTube channels from gamers such as Ninja (a bonafide celebrity nowadays) and DanTDM have spawned massive followings for their videos of games such as Fortnite and Minecraft.

With millions tuning in live to watch them dominate their rivals, they’ve become armchair multimillionaires.

Fancy getting in on the action? You can check out our guide to the best YouTube gaming channels below.

Ninja

The blue haired 27-year-old is the most famous online gamer in the world.  He has over 21m subscribers on YouTube, having blown up since the start of 2017 thanks to a series of wildly popular live streams of Fortnite on Twitch. He has played with the likes of Drake and Travis Scott, and is regularly hounded by 12-year-old fans wherever he goes.

His channel primarily features clips from his live streams and direct-to-camera chats, like the one above.

DanTDM

The UK’s leading streamer (and, yes, brightly coloured hair dye seems to be a recurring theme amongst online gamers). His videos mainly consist of him playing Minecraft and chatting as he goes along.

The Gamer Couple

If you’re less interested in watching people play games and more interested in playing them yourself, The Gamer Couple have some good tutorials for upping your game in Fortnite.

LDShadowLady

British twenty-something LDShadowLady is best known for her Minecraft videos. She has over four and a half million subscribers, and is a little more… relaxed than her male counterparts.

The Game Theorists

If you’re looking to take a closer look at how video games work, The Game Theorists channel is for you. It sees game expert MatPat break down the science and logic behind the likes of Super Smash Bros, Minecraft and Mario.

YouTube Gaming

This channel collects all the best gaming videos  – including live streams of popular games such as Fortnite, Minecraft and League of Legends – in one handy spot.

FGTeev

A wholesome channel, which sees an entire family – made up of mum, dad, three sons and one daughter – take each other on in Fortnite. There’s some scripted comedy sketch videos in there, too…

Red Arcade
