Twelve celebrities started their Dancing on Ice journey, but there can only be one winner.
Although gaining viewers’ votes is half the battle, the celebrity skaters also have to impress Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean on the ice panel if they want to avoid the skate-off and stay in the competition.

Week eight scores
This week saw the first ever Dancing on Ice skate battle, seeing the remaining celebrities skating together in a group performance which was marked by the judges. The top couple got 5 extra points, the second got 4 etc. Wes and Vanessa impressed in the performance, seeing them top the leaderboard once more.

It was a three-way skate-off this week, with Ryan and Brandee, Melody and Alexander and Jane and Sylvain all skating to stay in the competition, and two couples set to go home.
After the repeat performances, the judges were unanimous in their decisions, all choosing to save former Pussycat Doll Melody, with this week’s head judge Jayne Torvill also saying she would have made the same decision.
That meant both cricketer Ryan and Coronation Street star Jane bid farewell.

Gemma Collins found herself in the skate-off for the first time against cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, with all four judges choosing to see Sidebottom skate another day.
Speaking about her exit, TOWIE star Collins explained, “I just want to bow out gracefully now. I knew tonight was my night, so I just wanted to go out and have fun.”
When quizzed by Holly Willoughby as to whether Collins would keep skating, she replied in true GC style, “No, probably not.
“But I am taking [skate partner Matt Evers] to Gucci to buy him a bag, because I love him.”

After the viewer votes were added to the judges’ scores, it was revealed that Saira would be in the skate-off against Ryan. The first three judges chose to save Ryan and his partner Brandee, with this week’s head judge Jayne Torvill agreeing with the decision.

All the remaining celebrities took to the ice for Musicals Week, with each couple now also having to take on the Judges’ Challenge – a spin lasting three rotations.

A tense skate-off saw Richard Blackwood take on Saira Khan, with Richard being the second celebrity to exit the competition.

The remaining six celebrities took to the ice this week, hoping to avoid the infamous skate-off against Mark Little.

After the public vote, bottom of the leaderboard Ryan Sidebottom was placed in the skate-off, but lived to fight another day after beating former Neighbours actor Mark Little, who was the first celebrity sent home.
