Kim Jong-un arrives in China for meeting with Xi Jinping

North Korean leader summoned to Beijing as denuclearisation talks with the US appear to have stalled

North Korea’s ruler Kim Jong-un has arrived in China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping for a three-day visit seemingly aimed at coordinating an approach in advance of a second summit with Donald Trump that could happen early this year.

Kim’s visit, which state media said would last for three days, is his fourth summit with Xi. It comes amid reports of advanced negotiations for a second summit between the North Korean leader and the US president.
