A couple of weeks before the former Missouri governor, Eric Greitens, resigned over a blackmail scandal, he was pulled over by police while driving in the small town of Truesdale.
The governor, who is white, was doing 41mph in a 30mph zone, but the officer let him go with a warning. “It was a friendly interaction, and there was no need for a ticket,” Grietens’s spokesperson told reporters last month.
